The University of Tennessee Drumline plays an important part of the success of the Pride of the Southland Band. The Drumline performs in the stands at all home games in Neyland stadium and travels with the band to all of the away games throughout the season.
The UT Drumline is comprised of four sections. Snares, Tenors, Bass Drums, and Cymbals. Depending on the number of students auditioning, the UT Drumline typically carries 10 Snare Drums; 5 Tenors; 8 Bass Drums and 12-15 Cymbals. The Pride of the Southland Marching Band does not have a front ensemble.
Auditions for the UT Drumline are held each year during our Music Major/Minor and Non-Major audition dates. If you are interested in auditioning as a Music Major or Minor, you may register at the following: SCHOOL OF MUSIC AUDITION SITE
If you are NOT going to major or minor in music, you may complete the Pride of the Southland Audition Form.
Once accepted into the UT Drumline, students will be required to attend a mandatory Percussion Camp to determine instrument placement (Date TBA). Housing and meals will be provided for students during the weekend camp.
The Pride of the Southland Drumline is a proud sponsor of Yamaha, Zildjian, and
Innovative Percussion instruments.
