The University of Tennessee Alumni Band Awards
The alumni of the “Pride of the Southland” Marching Band represent the heart and love of the University of Tennessee’s “Pride of the Southland” Marching Band. The alumni embody the spirit of music and leaders in their careers, creating an impact in their communities and the people around them. These awards recognize the impact that our “Pride” alumni make in the world and the commitment to serving as true ambassadors for the “Pride of the Southland” Marching Band and the University of Tennessee.
These alumni awards pay tribute to alumni who go above and beyond to support the “Pride’s” mission by giving their time, talent, and resources to the students, staff, university and the alumni. The University of Tennessee “Pride of the Southland” alumni band takes great honor in celebrating the success of our alumni recognizing their career achievements.
Types of Awards
The Band Alumni will annually recognize Alumni of the University of Tennessee’s “Pride of the Southland” Marching Band with two prestigious awards. Two awards have been created:
- 1869 Distinguished “Pride” Alumni Award for Excellence in Music
- “Around the Ladder” Distinguished “Pride” Alumni Award for Excellence in Non Music Careers
