The University of Tennessee Band Program offers pep bands that perform in three different venues: Football, Basketball and Volleyball.
Anyone interested in becoming a member of one of our two football pep bands (Orange and White) must be a member of the “Pride of the Southland” Marching Band. The Orange Pep Band performs at assigned pep rallies, televised broadcasts, all away football game pep rallies, bowl trip pep rallies and other events as scheduled. The White Pep Band performs for the “Vol Walk” at home games and other events as scheduled. Auditions for both of these groups occur during Band Camp in August.
During basketball season (November-March), we offer two pep bands: Men’s Basketball Band and Lady Vols’ Basketball Band. Each group will play at their respective home games and will travel to their respective SEC and NCAA Tournaments. Auditions for these groups occur in late October.
Volleyball Pep Band functions at the beginning of the fall semester. It is a select 15-member group that plays at all home matches. Sign-up sheets are posted at the beginning of the semester. No audition is necessary, but the correct instrumentation will be chosen from those who sign-up during Band Camp.
