The Wind Ensemble is comprised of the most outstanding wind and percussion students in the music program. The group is dedicated to performing a broad range of music spanning the 16th through 20th centuries. Using the player pool concept, the ensemble performs music ranging from works requiring as few as eight players to as many as sixty. Flexible instrumentation and player rotation provide the members of the ensemble with a variety of responsibilities, challenges, and playing experiences. (The Wind Ensemble rehearses Tuesday and Thursday from 2:25pm-4:10pm).
The Symphonic Band is a 60-piece select ensemble who performs standard works in the wind ensemble/band repertoire. The band is noted for its rich sonorities, and provides students with the opportunity to perform significant works from the 19th and 20th centuries. (The Symphonic Band rehearses Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12:40pm-1:30pm.)
The Concert Band is a 60-piece select ensemble who performs standard works in the wind ensemble/band repertoire. The concert band provides both music majors and non-majors an opportunity to perform new literature as well standard wind repertoire (The Concert Band rehearses Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12:40pm-1:30pm.)
